Born and bred in the Pacific Northwest, Laurel Anderson is an artist with an intense passion for all things healthy, sustainable, and delicious. She has always been driven to create art, and food just so happens to be her primary medium.
Laurel first came to plant-based food during her decade-long career as a professional dancer. During that time, she came to recognize firsthand the deep connection between nutrition and physical well-being. Performing six nights per week demands a high level of physical endurance, and she found that eating a plant-based diet gave her the stamina and quick recovery that she needed to deliver consistently.
Looking towards the future, Laurel eventually went back to school and obtained a degree in interior architecture and design. Design school taught her to be more mindful of her environment, and it was during this time that she reinforced her commitment to living a more sustainable life. Eating a local vegetarian diet with an emphasis on raw foods quickly became her number one passion.
Laurel soon turned her love of raw food into a career, and now has nearly a decade of experience in the raw culinary arts under her belt. She boasts a long list of happy clients from her personal chef work and catering for large events, as well as from speaking engagements, restaurant consultation, and recipe development.
Currently, Laurel is preparing for a Summer book tour for her recently released recipe book Wild Plate. This book is only the start of amazing products to come.
